At Diba Clinics in Rotterdam, laser hair removal on your legs costs € 110 per session for the lower legs, € 110 for the upper legs and € 200 for the full legs. Full legs, underarms and extended bikini line together are Package D, for € 175. The lower legs take twenty-five minutes, the full legs forty-five minutes to an hour, and usually six to eight sessions are needed, with six to eight weeks in between. The laser specialists and skin therapists work with the GentleMax Pro, for every skin type.
The largest area and the longest haul.
Hair on the legs grows more slowly than on your underarms or face. That is why there is more time between sessions, and why a full course takes more than a year. On the other hand, legs respond well: the skin there is usually lighter than the hair, and that is what the laser needs.
Lower legs and upper legs behave differently. On the lower leg the hair is thicker and darker, and you see results sooner. On the upper leg it is often finer and lighter, and that sometimes takes one or two sessions more. If the hair on your upper legs is very light, the therapist tells you beforehand; then lower legs only is the honest choice.

In the chair, with eye protection
What you feel.
On the upper leg and the calf it is a dull warm tap. On the shin and around the knee and ankle it is sharper, because there is little between skin and bone. The cooling absorbs most of it. A full-leg session is mostly long; it is rarely painful.
Timing: start in autumn.
Your skin must not be tanned during the course, not even from self-tanner. Tanned skin absorbs laser light itself, and then the therapist has to use a lower setting or skip a session. If you start in September or October, you will have had most of your sessions before the sun comes back. Summer is possible too, but then with SPF 50 and long trousers, and hardly anyone keeps that up.
Who it works for and who it doesn't.
Dark hair on light to dark skin: yes. Blond or reddish leg hair: no, and electrolysis is not realistic for a whole area such as the legs. Then the honest advice is not to do it. Varicose veins and couperose on the legs are no obstacle; the laser for hair removal targets hair, not blood vessels.
What it costs in total.
A course is not a subscription: you book and pay per session. This is what it adds up to if you do the whole course.
- Full legs 7 sessions€ 1,400
- Lower legs 7 sessions€ 770
With underarms and extended bikini line added, Package D is cheaper per session than full legs on their own. That is € 175 per session instead of € 380, and over the whole course that saves € 1,435.
Aftercare,
for this zone.
- No tight leggings or tights on the day itself; rubbing makes the redness last.
- No hot shower, sauna or sport until the next day.
- Apply sunscreen to bare legs throughout the course, also on cloudy days.
- Red dots around the follicles are normal and fade within a day.
What people ask about this area.
Yes. Most people start there, because the hair is thickest there and it is what you see most.
Knees are included in full legs and in lower legs. Toes and the top of the foot can be added; ask at the intake.
Usually, yes. The dark dots are follicles with a hair in them; less hair means fewer dots. With keratosis pilaris, the rough bumps on the upper legs, laser helps less; that needs a different approach.
After the course, most of the hair growth is gone. An occasional maintenance session, once a year or every two years, is common, especially if your hormones change.
Yes, if your legs do not get tanned. In practice, many people pause in July and August and continue in September.

Every course starts with an intake. In it, the therapist determines your skin type, looks at the colour and thickness of your hair, and you hear how many sessions are realistic. If it is not going to work, you hear that there.
