Small or extended: the difference.
The small bikini line is what falls outside ordinary briefs: the edge along the groin and the top. The extended bikini line is the full area, including the labia. If you are unsure, do not start by guessing: at the intake the therapist looks at it with you and you hear what fits your wishes and what it costs. If you go from small to extended later on, the count starts again for the extra part.

The hair here is dark, thick and deeply rooted. That is favourable, because the laser targets pigment in the root. It is also the area where shaving and waxing work against you most: ingrown hairs, red bumps, dark shadow. After a course, that is usually the first thing to go.
At the same time, the skin here is often darker than on the rest of your body, even if you have light skin. That is why the therapist adjusts the settings again for each area, and not once for your whole body. That is the difference between a good result and a burn.
What you feel.
After the upper lip, this is the most sensitive area. Every pulse is a sharp warm tap, with immediate cooling. Along the groin it is not too bad; towards the centre it gets more intense. The therapist works in short strips and you can always ask for a break. Most people say after the second session that they get used to it.
Who it works for and who it doesn't.
Dark hair on any skin colour: yes, with the right wavelength. Blond, red or grey hair: no, that is what electrolysis is for. If you are pregnant, we do not treat this area. With PCOS, growth drops sharply, but maintenance remains necessary.
Pigmentation in the bikini area.
Dark discolouration in the groin often comes from years of shaving and rubbing. Laser removes the cause, but not the discolouration itself. There is a separate treatment for that: Happy Intim or Dermamelan Intimate. We usually do the laser course first and then look at what is left.
