Microneedling in which polynucleotides from salmon DNA go into the skin with it. For repair, texture and hydration.
What salmon DNA costs with us, what is in the product and whether it is injected, is on Salmon DNA in Rotterdam.
Where it lands
Salmon DNA is the common name for polynucleotides: purified chains of DNA from salmon. We work with mesohyal X-DNA by Mesoestetic, in which polynucleotides and hyaluronic acid sit together in one solution. The product goes on your skin, and the microneedling pen makes channels into the upper dermis through which it travels inwards. The needling starts repair and the production of collagen; the polynucleotides support that repair and the hyaluronic acid holds on to moisture.

What happens
Acts on
Connective tissue
The scaffolding of your skin. What you prompt here repairs by building.
- Stratum corneumThe outer layer of dead cells. What happens here shows quickly and heals quickly.Passes through here
- EpidermisWhere your pigment sits and where new skin cells come from.It works here
- Upper dermisThis is where the connective tissue starts. What you reach here heals by building. It works here
- Deep dermisHair roots, vessels and the firmness of your skin. Working this deep needs a reason.Does not reach here
What happens,
in order.
Every treatment starts with cleansing, and that is done by hand. Make-up and sebum come off and the therapist checks that everything is gone, because a device or an active ingredient that works on a layer never reaches your skin.
Numbing
A numbing cream gets half an hour to work. That wait is part of it.
Needling with salmon DNA
The product goes on the skin and the pen takes it inwards, area by area.
Giving it rest
After that only the products the therapist gives you.

Microneedling with salmon DNA, during the treatment
What you notice in the chair
It runs like an ordinary microneedling. First a numbing cream goes on, which needs half an hour to work. Then the salmon DNA goes on your skin and the pen moves over the area in passes, so the product travels inwards through the channels.
What you feel is vibration and pressure, strongest on your forehead and around your jawline, where the skin lies thin over bone. Around your eyes the pen goes less deep than on your cheeks.
Straight afterwards you are red, roughly like a strong sun flush. That settles in one to three days. For the first twenty-four hours you leave your skin alone: no make-up, no exercise, no sauna.
What this treatment is meant for
On the left where this treatment works well, on the right when another treatment does more for you.
- Combines microneedling with polynucleotides and hyaluronic acid in the skin
- For skin that lacks moisture and elasticity, and for fine lines
- Takes the product inwards with the pen, without injections
- Can be done with the SkinPen and with the Dermapen, depending on your skin and the area
- Does not add volume or fill folds
- A single session is too little; the result comes over the series
- Deep or tethered scars are more likely to need a combination with laser
- With active inflammation we treat that first

Frequently asked questions
What is salmon DNA?
Salmon DNA is the common name for polynucleotides: purified chains of DNA from salmon. In the skin they support repair. We use mesohyal X-DNA by Mesoestetic, which besides polynucleotides also contains hyaluronic acid, which holds on to moisture.
Is salmon DNA injected?
Not with us. The product goes on your skin and the microneedling pen takes it inwards through small channels. So you get no injections; what you feel is the pen, with numbing cream beforehand.
Is it possible if I am allergic to fish?
Tell us beforehand in any case. The product is made from purified salmon DNA, and with a fish allergy we would rather choose a different treatment.
How long does an appointment take?
Allow 60 minutes at the clinic. That is the time reserved for you in the calendar, including the cleansing beforehand.
How much recovery time do I need?
One to three days red, like a strong sun flush.
How often do I need to come?
A series of three to six, with four to six weeks in between.
What does it cost?
250 euros per session. Every price is published on the price page.
