Skin boosters in Rotterdam

A skin booster is a treatment in which active ingredients, such as hyaluronic acid and vitamins, are placed into the skin with very fine injections rather than onto it. At Diba Clinics in Rotterdam that is done with the U225, which puts every injection at the same depth. A single treatment costs € 180 and a course of three € 500.

How it works

What a skin booster
does to your skin

A cream largely stays at the surface. A skin booster puts the ingredients in the layer where they have to do their work.

Most of what you rub on your skin gets no further than the outer layer. That layer is there precisely to hold things back. For moisture and firmness, ingredients like hyaluronic acid have to sit deeper, in the skin itself, and a cream does not reach there.

With a skin booster a mixture of active ingredients goes just under the skin through very fine injections, spread across the whole area rather than in one place. The goal is not filling but the quality of the skin: that it feels more hydrated and firmer. Which mixture and how much depends on what your skin needs.

There are different boosters: one for fine lines and moisture, such as RRS Hyalift, a separate one for the thin skin around the eyes, and a depigmentation booster for face, neck and décolleté with pigment, sun damage and melasma. Because the skin does the work between sessions, it is usually a course of three.

How the injector works is on the U225. The treatment itself is on the treatment page, and the booster for the eyes on RRS Eyes.

Not a filler

A skin booster
is not a filler

They are often confused, and the difference decides what you can expect from the treatment.

A filler brings volume to one place: filling a fold, making a lip fuller, changing a contour. A skin booster does not. It is spread thinly across the whole area and works on the quality of your skin, not on the shape of your face. We do not place fillers here.

What makes the difference here is the U225. When injecting by hand the whole syringe moves along; with the U225 the syringe stays still and only the needle moves, up to eight times per second. So there is less vibration and every injection is the same depth, even when a few hundred follow one another.

Beforehand a numbing cream goes on. What you feel after that is a series of short pricks, more sensitive around the eyes than on the cheek. Right afterwards you see small bumps where each injection went; those usually settle within a day.

What skin boosters
costs with us

A single treatment or a course of three, and a booster of its own for the eyes. The intake arrangement is set out in full.

  • Skin booster, single€ 180
  • RRS Hyalift mini filler booster€ 175
  • Course of three€ 500
  • RRS Eyes€ 130
  • RRS Eyes, course of three€ 350

A course of three costs € 500, against € 540 for three separate treatments. Because the skin does the work between sessions, the course is usually the sensible choice as well.

All the clinic's rates

Is this your first visit

Then you book a treatment on advice. We reserve at most two hours for that: the intake, and then at least an hour to treat. If treating is safe at that moment and you want it, we do the first skin booster in the same appointment.

What the intake costs

If you are treated in the same appointment, the intake fee is waived and you pay only for the treatment. If the treatment does not go ahead, the intake costs € 50. A separate intake without treatment lasts at most 30 minutes and always costs € 50.

Have you been here before

Then you book the skin booster directly in the calendar. Count on 60 minutes. If anything has changed since your last visit in your skin, your medication or your expectation, say so when you arrive. Do not book a skin booster just before something where you have to be photographed: around the eyes a bruise can last longer.

No detours

What helps and what we advise against

A skin booster works on the quality of your skin. For volume, for deep lines and for anyone who cannot tolerate needles, it is not the right choice.

This works

  • Skin lacking moisture and firmness, across the whole area
  • Fine lines, around the eyes too with a booster meant for that
  • Pigment, sun damage and melasma, with the depigmentation booster
  • A combination with treatments that work on the top layer

We advise against this

  • Volume or a different shape. That is filler, and we do not do that
  • Deep lines or folds. A skin booster does not take those away
  • Anyone who cannot tolerate needles. There are many of them, small as they are
  • Pigment without sun protection. Without it, it carries on, during the course too

the alternatives

For firmer, more hydrated skin there are several routes. This is what they do, what you notice afterwards and what they cost.

About Skin boosters in Rotterdam

Frequently asked questions

What do skin boosters cost in Rotterdam?

At Diba Clinics a single skin booster costs € 180 and a course of three € 500. The RRS Hyalift booster costs € 175, and the booster for the eyes, RRS Eyes, € 130 each time or € 350 for a course of three. If it is your first visit, your appointment starts with a € 50 intake, which is waived if we treat in the same appointment.

What is the difference between a skin booster and a filler?

A filler brings volume to one place and changes a shape. A skin booster is spread thinly across the whole area and works on the moisture and firmness of the skin itself. We do not place fillers here.

Does a skin booster hurt?

It feels like a series of short pricks and it goes quickly. Beforehand a numbing cream goes on. Around the eyes it is more sensitive than on the cheek.

Do I look afterwards as though I have been injected?

Right afterwards you see small bumps where each injection went; those usually settle within a day. Bruises are possible, especially around the eyes, and those last longer. So do not book it just before an occasion.

Why a course of three?

Because the skin does the work between sessions. Several prompts are needed before anything is built, with two to four weeks in between.

When do I see results from a skin booster?

Your skin often feels more hydrated quite soon, but the real difference builds across the course. How fast that goes differs per skin.

Does a skin booster help against pigment?

There is a separate booster for that, the depigmentation booster, for face, neck and décolleté with pigment, sun damage and melasma. Without daily sun protection the pigment carries on, during the course too.

What does the U225 do differently from a syringe?

With the U225 the syringe stays still and only the needle moves, up to eight times per second. So there is less vibration and the depth is the same from injection to injection, even when a few hundred follow one another.

Not sure

Not sure whether a skin booster suits you

You do not have to know that before you come. We look at your skin, discuss what you want to achieve and say which treatment fits. If you are after volume, you hear that a skin booster is not for that.

If you know what you are after but are unsure about the timing or the combination with something else, ask via WhatsApp. There is a therapist on the other end and not a form.
