Zorg en Zekerheid:
where to find it.
We cannot see what is in your policy, and we cannot promise anything on behalf of Zorg en Zekerheid. What we can do is tell you exactly where to find the answer and which condition sits in it most often.
Amounts are not given here. They change per year and per package, and with money, wrong is worse than absent.
Zorg en Zekerheid has a cover finder. Type acne treatment there and choose your package. With them what you get back depends not only on your package, but also on the care profile the skin therapist establishes.
To Zorg en ZekerheidThis reference was checked in September 2026. What is written there always takes precedence over what is written here.
Amounts and package names are deliberately left out.
Where it gets stuck
Since 2026 Zorg en Zekerheid only covers acne treatment from care profile 2 upwards, and only when a skin therapist does the treatment. That profile runs from 0 to 4 and is set by the skin therapist; it has to be on the invoice together with the provider code.
This is not the amount but the condition, and that is deliberate: a condition changes far less often than a maximum, and it is usually the reason a claim is refused.
What Zorg en Zekerheid
asks of us
A skin therapist who meets the requirements of the Dutch quality register for allied health professionals. A referral is then not needed. Treatments by a beauty specialist they no longer cover as of 2026.
This is the part we can check for you. Just ask before you book and we will say whether we meet this requirement.
This is how you reach your own amount
Three steps, and you have the amount that belongs to your policy. We cannot look it up for you: what is in your package only you can see, behind your own login.
- Step 1
Open the cover finder and search for acne treatment; that stands apart from camouflage lessons.
- Step 2
Choose your supplementary package. It says what you get back and from which care profile that applies.
- Step 3
Ask us for your care profile and our provider code before you claim. If they are not on the invoice, it is rejected.
The questions that at Zorg en Zekerheid matter
Below is what Zorg en Zekerheid publishes about it themselves. Take it with you when you call and check it for your policy: what holds for one package need not hold for another.
Do I need a referral?
No, you can go to a skin therapist without a referral, provided they meet the requirements of the Dutch quality register for allied health professionals. That register is public and you can search it by name yourself.
What is that care profile?
A scale from 0 to 4 that says how extensive the acne is. The skin therapist establishes it at the first appointment. Since 2026 Zorg en Zekerheid only covers from profile 2 upwards, so this decides whether you get anything back.
Does this come out of my excess?
With cover from the supplementary insurance, no. The excess belongs to the basic insurance. Many people put care off because they confuse the two.
One question comes before this.
Is there a medical reason for your concern? Without that reason no insurer covers anything, and that includes Zorg en Zekerheid ; for most of what we do, that is the answer.
The whole route, with what happens when the answer is noAn invoice
that is right.
We put on your invoice exactly what was done and by whom, so that you can submit it. If Zorg en Zekerheid asks for a registration number or for the therapist's qualification, you get that from us. Do call before you book: that saves you a refusal afterwards.
What we do not do is claim directly or promise that something will be covered. That conversation you have with your insurer, and we would have to guess the answer.
