Menzis:
where to find it.
We cannot see what is in your policy, and we cannot promise anything on behalf of Menzis. What we can do is tell you exactly where to find the answer and which condition sits in it most often.
Amounts are not given here. They change per year and per package, and with money, wrong is worse than absent.
Menzis works with cover guides: pdf overviews per year stating per type of care what your package does.
To MenzisThis reference was checked in September 2026. What is written there always takes precedence over what is written here.
Amounts and package names are deliberately left out.
Where it gets stuck
At Menzis it turns on the contract. If you go to a skin therapist they do not recognise, you pay up front yourself and get back a part at most. So look in their Zorgvinder first and only then at the amount.
This is not the amount but the condition, and that is deliberate: a condition changes far less often than a maximum, and it is usually the reason a claim is refused.
What Menzis
asks of us
Menzis works with contracts. You go to a skin therapist they recognise, and which ones those are is in their Zorgvinder. With a contracted therapist the bill goes straight to Menzis instead of to you.
This is the part we can check for you. Just ask before you book and we will say whether we meet this requirement.
This is how you reach your own amount
Three steps, and you have the amount that belongs to your policy. We cannot look it up for you: what is in your package only you can see, behind your own login.
- Step 1
Look the treatment up in the cover guide for the current year; Menzis works with pdf overviews per year and per package.
- Step 2
Check in the Zorgvinder whether your therapist is contracted. That decides whether you have to pay up front.
- Step 3
If you go through the supplementary policy, count on a personal contribution per treatment alongside the maximum.
The questions that at Menzis matter
Below is what Menzis publishes about it themselves. Take it with you when you call and check it for your policy: what holds for one package need not hold for another.
Do I need a referral?
That depends on where it comes from. From the basic policy Menzis wants a written referral from your GP or a medical specialist. If it comes from your supplementary policy, that referral is not needed.
Do I share this budget with anything else?
Yes. The maximum from the supplementary policy applies to acne treatment and camouflage therapy together, products included. Count on a personal contribution per treatment alongside that maximum as well.
Does this come out of my excess?
With cover from the supplementary insurance, no. The excess belongs to the basic insurance. Many people put care off because they confuse the two.
One question comes before this.
Is there a medical reason for your concern? Without that reason no insurer covers anything, and that includes Menzis ; for most of what we do, that is the answer.
The whole route, with what happens when the answer is noAn invoice
that is right.
We put on your invoice exactly what was done and by whom, so that you can submit it. If Menzis asks for a registration number or for the therapist's qualification, you get that from us. Do call before you book: that saves you a refusal afterwards.
What we do not do is claim directly or promise that something will be covered. That conversation you have with your insurer, and we would have to guess the answer.
Are you not with
Menzis?
Is your insurer not listed? The four questions above work everywhere, because they are about conditions every insurer applies.
