We cannot see what is in your policy, and we cannot promise anything on behalf of ONVZ. What we can do is tell you exactly where to find the answer and which condition sits in it most often.
Amounts are not given here. They change per year and per package, and with money, wrong is worse than absent.

Where it gets stuck
ONVZ applies an age limit to acne treatment, and the basic policy does not cover the skin therapist. If you are over that limit, first check whether your package has an exception before you schedule a programme.
This is not the amount but the condition, and that is deliberate: a condition changes far less often than a maximum, and it is usually the reason a claim is refused.
What ONVZ
asks of us
From 1 January 2026 ONVZ wants the skin therapist to be listed in the Dutch quality register for allied health professionals. For this year they also still accept registration with the NVH, to give therapists time to get that registration in place.
This is the part we can check for you. Just ask before you book and we will say whether we meet this requirement.
This is how you reach your own amount
Three steps, and you have the amount that belongs to your policy. We cannot look it up for you: what is in your package only you can see, behind your own login.

Look the treatment up in the A-to-Z list for the year and the package you have; ONVZ puts every combination on its own page.
- Step 2
Mind the age limit. For acne treatment the cover runs to 21, with the exception of the highest package.
- Step 3
Check whether a prescription from a dermatologist is needed. ONVZ ties treatment by the skin therapist to treatment by the doctor.

Below is what ONVZ publishes about it themselves. Take it with you when you call and check it for your policy: what holds for one package need not hold for another.
Do I need a referral?
ONVZ ties treatment by the skin therapist to the doctor: the dermatologist prescribes it, and if needed you stay under their care as well. The basic policy does not cover the skin therapist itself.
Is there an age limit?
Yes, and at ONVZ that is the condition that most often gets in the way. For acne treatment the cover runs to 21; only the highest package covers it beyond that. Check this before you schedule a programme.
Does this come out of my excess?
With cover from the supplementary insurance, no. The excess belongs to the basic insurance. Many people put care off because they confuse the two.
One question comes before this.
Is there a medical reason for your concern? Without that reason no insurer covers anything, and that includes ONVZ ; for most of what we do, that is the answer.

We put on your invoice exactly what was done and by whom, so that you can submit it. If ONVZ asks for a registration number or for the therapist's qualification, you get that from us. Do call before you book: that saves you a refusal afterwards.
What we do not do is claim directly or promise that something will be covered. That conversation you have with your insurer, and we would have to guess the answer.
