Where it lands
PIANO is a long, slow pulse that heats the tissue evenly across a large surface rather than point by point. So the heat reaches deeper and the top layer of skin stays cool. Existing collagen contracts and the production of new collagen gets going, which makes the skin firmer.

What happens,

Every treatment starts with cleansing, and that is done by hand. Make-up and sebum come off and the therapist checks that everything is gone, because a device or an active ingredient that works on a layer never reaches your skin.
Goggles on
You are given protective goggles and the therapist applies a thin layer of gel.
Heat in passes
The handpiece passes in calm strips across the area. The warmth rises and lingers there a while.
Straight on
The skin is at most slightly pink. Usually you walk straight out with it.
What you notice in the chair
What you feel is a rising warmth that stops just short of uncomfortable. During the session the therapist asks how warm it feels and adjusts the device to your answer.
Afterwards the skin feels warm and looks somewhat fuller. That is the heat and not yet a result; the building comes over the weeks after.

Why does this feel different from other lasers?
Because the pulse is long and slow instead of short and sharp. You feel no taps but a warmth that rises.
Do I see something straight away?
Straight after the session the skin looks fuller from the heat. The real difference comes from the collagen building, and that takes weeks.
