- A programme of three to six months, with a check-up every four to six weeks.
A guided programme for acne: treatments at the clinic, products and check-ups at home.
Where it lands
A programme instead of separate treatments, because acne changes over weeks and does not arise at a moment. It starts with a measurement and a schedule for home; then treatments in the clinic follow with a check-up every four to six weeks in which the schedule is adjusted. It ends with tapering down to what you keep up yourself.
- Stratum corneumThe outer layer of dead cells. What happens here shows quickly and heals quickly. It works here
- EpidermisWhere your pigment sits and where new skin cells come from.It works here
- Upper dermisThis is where the connective tissue starts. What you reach here heals by building.Does not reach here
- Deep dermisHair roots, vessels and the firmness of your skin. Working this deep needs a reason.Does not reach here
What happens,
in order.
Every treatment starts with cleansing, and that is done by hand. Make-up and sebum come off and the therapist checks that everything is gone, because a device or an active ingredient that works on a layer never reaches your skin.
Measurement beforehand
We look at where it sits, which type it is and how your skin is doing now.
Treating and adjusting
Sessions in the clinic with products at home, and at every check-up seeing whether the schedule holds.
Afbouwen
A programme ends with what you keep up yourself. Otherwise it comes back and everything starts again.

Acne programme, during the treatment
What you notice in the chair
The programme starts with a measurement and a conversation, not with a treatment. What comes out of that decides the order, and that order is the heart of it: inflammation first, scars later, never at the same time.
After that you see us at set intervals. Every appointment is part treatment and part check-up, and at every check-up a new measurement is taken under the same lighting.
Between appointments you care for your skin yourself, with the products and the schedule you are given. That decides a large part of the result.
What this treatment is meant for
On the left where this treatment works well, on the right when another treatment does more for you.
- Follows the course of acne rather than picking out one moment
- Combines treatments in the clinic with products and check-ups at home
- Records at every check-up what has changed, so that you do not compare from memory
- Acne has a course, so we do not agree an end date beforehand
- With severe or scarring acne a doctor looks first
- Most of it happens at home, so the products belong to the programme
The concerns this belongs to
Every concern page says what the concern is, what can be done about it and when a different approach gives more.
